Vegas Bound: Halloween Week 2019

I love every reason to let my inner spook out, so the ENTIRE month of October is an all-out celebration for me! If you're here, you must be getting ready to spend your Halloween in Las Vegas and I could NOT be more excited for you. Whether you are a Las Vegas Local, or here for the weekend, Las Vegas is one of the most amazing places in the world for entertainment, and to take a nice relaxing (or turnt) vacation. As much as Vegas has the reputation to be an Adults only trip, we have tons of spooktacular events for the whole family to enjoy.

If you are heading to Las Vegas to celebrate Halloween, check out the hotel rooms available from my team. We can get rates up to 30% lower than nationally advertised rates all year round, even on national holidays. And when you book with me, you get the option of having me personally help you plan out your vacation specifics and help to manage any last-minute emergencies.

A few tips if you are coming through for the costume contests. Vegas does not come to play, we have world-class SFX artists in town that pull out all the stops! If you are coming to show off your craft don't hold anything back because I guarantee you no one here will! If you are planning on a nightclub costume contest, most casinos have very strict requirements on what you can wear walking through like ABSOLUTELY no nudity or implied nudity (like pasties and thongs), no weapons (not even obviously fake ones), no full face paint or masks, and no skates to name a few. If you have a costume that is a little risky, wear a coat over, lots of the clubs have a coat check for a fee (I know for sure XS, Chateau, and Light have coat checks).

Check out my video on spending Halloween in Las Vegas:

Nikki's Picks:

Here are my TOP Halloween adventures you have to see to believe for 2019:
  • ROCK OF HORROR: Fremont Street Experience October 31st
With live entertainment from bands to a WICKED show with aerial acts, and a cash costume contest this is a FREE event that you can not miss and you will need to see in person to believe! See below or the link for details.
  • Cardi B @ Kaos October 31st
See Cardi under the Demon Dome Halloween night! Kaos is Las Vegas' newest superclub at the renovated Palms. Cardi always puts on a performance that will keep you on your feet! Prices for this keep climbing so lock these in ASAP.
  • HallOVeen @ the Magical Forest @ Opportunity Village
This is a whole family type of event, like a super fun Halloween Carnival with trick-or-treat stations and ticketed rides including a MINI COASTER! There will be a selection of food trucks so you can spend the WHOLE evening here! Open daily Halloween week - Oct31.
  • FREAKLING BROS: Trilogy of Terror
This is where you go if you want to be real-life horrified. This isn't your cute neighborhood haunted house. The Freakling Bros are coming for a FULL scare you out of your pants vibe, and they never disappoint. So, if extreme fear is your thing (like me), this is a MUST. See hours in the Haunted House section below or link for details.
  • Zombie Paintball Express @ Bonnie Screams
I've been dreaming of shooting zombies since I was introduced to Zombies in Call Of Duty. This is that in REAL LIFE and I'm obsessed! For $30 you can board the Zombie Paintball Express out in Bonnie Screams and see if you have what it takes to survive a Zombie take over. Count me ALL the way in. Get your tickets at the venue 7- 10:30PM Halloween week or call ahead. See link for details.

You can shoot zombies with paintballs through the windows while you ride a bus through a post-apocalyptic scene. This is my Call Of Duty dream come true.

Escape Rooms:

  • SAW
Come see if you have what it takes to escape Jigsaw. General Tickets will be paired with other parties. Purchase Private or Private VIP to go with just your own group.
  • Lost Games
The Asylum with 2 chapters and a special Halloween edition. See if you can complete the puzzles and face your fears before the time is up. It's going to be dark, you might have to crawl through stuff. I'm already scared thinking about it. They have VERY low successful escape percentages.

  • The Gilcrease Orchard
See where the pumpkins are actually grown! The apple picking and other fruits and vegetables usually get all picked out before we get anywhere close to Halloween, but it is still amazing to stroll through the orchard and see where everything grows. They have fresh apple cider, apple cider doughnuts, kettle corn and caramel apples for purchase along with pumpkins. Throw Back: That one time I competed in a pageant

Once upon a time, what seems like a long time ago I decided I wanted to be a beauty queen. It was definitely an experience I will never forget and I finally have the chance to tell you all about it!

I've always known that I wanted to help people in some way, and one day it dawned on me if I had a crown that would definitely give me a much louder voice to speak on issues I thought were important. So, I went searching for what I thought was the best pageant for me and I landed on Miss Nevada USA 2016. The only thing I knew about pageants at this point was from the Miss Congeniality movie and what I heard about from my cousin's social media pages. So from that, I thought it was going to be a breeze...PSYCH! It was probably the most grueling process of self-discovery I've ever put myself through.

My first step was figuring out how much all of this was going to cost. For me, it was a ridiculous amount that I just wasn't going to be able to make at my day job in time for th…

The Women of Las Vegas: The Monat Monarchs

Meet the Monat Monarchs

A group of women after my whole heart! The Monat Monarchs is a Las Vegas-based group of powerful boss babes spreading uplifting messages of gratitude, growth, and grace through connecting women all over our community and fueled by the Monat Premium Hair and Skin Products. Monat is a brand that has put their consumers first at every available opportunity. During this pandemic, their production team has made a focus on creating hand sanitizer gel to add to every order placed on April 7th for 15 days. They didn't stop there, they are also sending out 40,000 bottles of hand sanitizer gel to children's services organizations, homeless shelters, and community centers on the front lines across America and Canada.

We're making hand sanitizer gel! Addressing the recent shortage of hand sanitizer amidst the #COVID19 pandemic, our diligent manufacturing team is temporarily pivoting its focus to produce a new formula we believe will h…

Let's Go Sailing: Cruising With a Toddler

Cruising with Carnival has become a yearly thing for my mom and I, and this year we extended the tradition a generation by bringing my 1-year-old with us. We went for a 4 day, Halloween cruise from Long Beach with 2 stops - Catalina Island and Ensenada, Baja California. Here's a rundown on going on a cruise with a toddler!

First off, we drove from Las Vegas all the way to the Long Beach Terminal so the first leg of our trip was a 4+ hour car ride. I made sure we were fully stocked for the ride over so we wouldn't have to make too many stops and make the ride any longer. Turns out we didn't need anything I packed for the ride because he slept for about 3 1/2 hours and was completely content with his tablet, a juice box, and some cheez-its when he woke up. 🤦🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️

We decided to check our bags instead of dragging them through the ship because we just knew we wanted to grab some food and explore before going back to the room. That means we had to have everything we cou…

Now Streaming: 'Legacies' on Netflix Seasons 1 and 2

I love a good supernatural drama series. I was all in on the 'Vampire Diaries' for a while, and when the 'Originals' came in with what felt like a more "grown-up" storyline from the beginning, I was instantly HOOKED! It had everything I needed in a supernatural drama, but when that ended I was left in a show hole. How do you even follow up on that epic storyline, but thank the bright minds at CW they made it happen with 'Legacies'.
With 'Legacies', we are tuning in to the life of Hope Mikaelson after the loss of her parents at The Salvatore School for the Young and Gifted ran by Alaric Saltzman who is firmly seated in our hearts from 'Vampire Diaries'. Alaric is the headmaster of the Salvatore School and is looking after his twin daughters who are the last living members of the Gemini Coven. This is exactly the drama series I needed to check into during this quarantine. The Salvatore School is home to the witch, werewolf and vampire yo…

My Netflix Obsession: Raising Dion

My latest Netflix obsession lands right on Raising Dion. This Netflix Original is about a Widowed single mother, played by Alisha Wainwright (that I recognize from Shadow Hunters), who is doing her best to raise a son with superhuman abilities that seem to keep growing. While we are at NO shortage of superhero movies and shows right now, this one breaks the average mold by being the story of a child of color. Without giving you too many spoilers, this is why you should start binging right now.

First, second and third of all MICHAEL B. JORDAN. Thank you, and goodnight folks. That smile moves mountains and can get me to watch anything! BUT, I got caught up and sucked in before I even realized he was in this so it was a delightful bonus. Unfortunately, we learn early on in the movie that Michael's character, Mark, was killed in a storm saving someone giving us the hero factor right out of the gate. The characters of this show are SO easily loveable. Dion, played by Ja'Siah Young…

Charity Sneaker Gala To Benefit Child Haven Las Vegas

To honor and commemorate the Las Vegas Child Haven for their years of service to the community, Cashleigh X Nulife Kicks present to us the Charity Sneaker Gala.

This is an event for the whole city to come out and get a red carpet experience dressed in their finest formal to semi-formal threads with their sneakers on to complete the look. Here we will enjoy entertainment, eats, beverages and a champagne toast all from the talent in our community to benefit a local organization that takes great strides to be a place of shelter and comfort for children from our community going through the toughest of times.

The Child Haven shelter is a licensed facility, staffed by employees who provide safe, nurturing temporary care for children who cannot safely remain with their families.  County staff provides direct care, daily supervision, and life skills development to children in this temporary placement. “It’s very tough for children who are removed from their homes,” said County Commissioner L…

What to expect in July 2020: Las Vegas After Lock Down

Vegas is OPEN and ready to serve up your next vacation or staycation the way Only Vegas knows how. We are living in a much different time now, so here's what we can expect for a trip to Las Vegas in July.
**July 11 Update: Bars, Pubs, etc (see graphic) that do not serve food have all been ordered to close.
First things first, masks are required in all public spaces through the state of Nevada per our latest directive (see specifics here). You will have to wear a mask when you are outside of your hotel room in all public spaces. You do not have to wear a mask when doing physical activity like working out, but you will need to wear one on the way to the gym and back. Same with the pool, you do not have to wear one while in the pool, but a mask is required everywhere else including the pool deck. Restaurants, bars, and lounges all have similar rules, masks will be needed while waiting in line to be seated/served but you do not have to wear a mask while eating and drinking. Social dist…

The Women of Las Vegas: Debra Storey of Blazzian Collection

Meet Debra Storey
Highly educated in Fashion and Business, Debra Storey uses her sleek and eye-catching designs to take the Las Vegas Fashion Scene to another level. Blazzian Collection was introduced to Las Vegas in 2008 at the Vegas Fashion Show Party. Since then, she has used her unique ability to create beautiful designs to help raise funds for causes such as the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southern Nevada and Save Black Boys Las Vegas. While we've all been following through with our orders to #StayHomeForNevada, Debra has been working hard to create masks that allow us an added layer of protection when we NEED to go out and using the proceeds from those orders to aid single parents who are struggling during this time get the essentials they need to care for their families.

Through the Blazzian Collection's official social media pages (Instagram, Facebook), we see that through the difficulty Las Vegas is currently facing through the closure of our entire state, Debra is sti…

The Women Of Las Vegas: With Love Reiki from Sheila

Meet Sheila Sclafani-Cook

As a Usui/Holy Fire® III, Karuna Reiki®Master, and a Seraphim Blueprint practitioner, Sheila Sclafani-Cook is a local treasure. Her path through Spirituality has connected her with Spirit and she is guided to support others on the healing path through meditations, classes, Reiki sessions or bringing others to the way of Reiki by teaching Reiki to them. With Love Reiki and Healing was founded to create a place where people can come to allow their soul to breathe. Through this time of Social Distancing, I've been getting my much-needed meditations and Reiki healing from her Youtube channel where we can all tune in at no charge and get regularly updated Reiki distance healing.
I first met Sheila through one of my Mom's meditations at Enchanted Forest, and when I was going through a really confusing time in my life I went to her to get a Reiki session. To say it was amazing is an understatement! It was exactly what I needed to get me through that excruci…
